Justice League Trailer Reveals Snyder Cut Final Battle Footage
Justice League Trailer Reveals Snyder Cut Final Battle Footage
Zack Snyder shares another Justice League teaser, one that showcases footage from the final battle. The Snyder Cut is one of the many upcoming DC films that will be promoted during this weekend's DC FanDome event, with Snyder on hand to unveil the first trailer. In the week leading up to the event, the director has shared a number of intriguing Justice League teases to get audiences excited for the panel - be it images of Wonder Woman's past life or footage of the post-resurrected Superman at Heroes Park.
Fortunately, viewers don't have much longer before they get a real taste of what Snyder has in store. Though FanDome was recently split into two events, the Justice League presentation is still set for Saturday, August 22. And to help make the wait a little easier, Snyder has one last Justice League tease.
Today, Snyder shared another short teaser, which essentially operates as a roll call for the non-Superman members of the Justice League. In addition to a closeup of Bruce Wayne's business card, the video consists of quick, out-of-context shots of Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, and The Flash. Check it out in the space below:
The teaser ends with a group shot of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Cyborg - one that was included in pre-release materials (such as one of the original Justice League trailers from a few years ago). In the 2017 theatrical cut, that shot appears to have been altered so only Wonder Woman is standing in the hallway before she fights Steppenwolf solo. Here, in the Snyder Cut footage, the trio is back together, implying they will team up against the villain at some point. This is but a small illustration of how the two Justice League versions differ from one another. It's no secret entire character arcs and plot points were altered when Joss Whedon came in to steer the reshoots, so it will be very interesting to see Snyder's take on the final battle. After being treated to a low-res image of the Snyder Cut's Steppenwolf, audiences are eager to see the antagonist in action.
It's unknown how long the Snyder Cut trailer will be and how much it'll reveal. The film won't hit HBO Max until 2021, so WB doesn't have to rush to show all their cards just yet. But what's clear from Snyder's teases over the past few days is that the trailer's mission is the emphasize the fact it's a completely different movie from the one that came out in 2017, using all the differences as a hook for casual audiences who may not be well-versed in the Snyder Cut movement. DC FanDome is an event full of major reveals, but arguably the Justice League trailer is the biggest of all.
