Mandalorian Season 2 Baby Yoda Merchandise Will Be Available Right Away

The Mandalorian season 2 Baby Yoda merchandise will be available right away. After audiences immediately fell in love with the character following his debut in The Mandalorian season 1, Baby Yoda toys were high in demand. Unfortunately, there was no official merchandise available when the show premiered, as Baby Yoda was kept a secret in marketing. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni wanted to preserve the surprise of what the series was really about, so Disney held off on releasing Baby Yoda tie-in products until months afterwards, willingly sacrificing millions of dollars in sales during the holiday season.

Baby Yoda will once again be front and center in The Mandalorian season 2, which premieres on Disney+ in October. Even though the show is reportedly featuring legacy Star Wars characters like Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett this time around, Baby Yoda will still be the main focus, with Din Djarin on a search for the Jedi. The Mandalorian season 2 trailer did its part to get viewers excited for the next batch of episodes, and fortunately there won't be a wait to get merchandise of the pair.

Today, Lucasfilm announced a new promotional initiative called Mando Mondays, where the studio will unveil Mandalorian merchandise such as toys, collectibles, books, and more all throughout season 2. The first Mando Monday takes place on October 26, just a few days before season 2 debuts, and the campaign runs through December 21. Pre-orders for select items, such as a Baby Yoda LEGO set, Baby Yoda Funkos, and a Baby Yoda bust open today.

Baby Yoda's arguably the most popular Star Wars character right now, so Disney is hoping to cash in with some big splashes during the holiday season. It wouldn't be surprising if most of these Baby Yoda products sell well, and there seems to be something available for any kind of collector. Some of the merchandise even ties back to season 1, like the FigPin depicting the now-famous moment where Baby Yoda sipped soup out of his bowl. It'll be interesting to see what becomes available as Mando Mondays progresses through to the end of the year.

Ahead of The Mandalorian season 2, Ahsoka and Boba Fett are the characters being held back in advertising, as neither were present in the trailer. What's interesting about Mando Mondays is that it sounds like new items will be unveiled after each episode comes out, implying some of the products could be specifically connected to spoilers the studio is keeping under lock and key right now. Perhaps Lucasfilm's licensing partners have Ahsoka and Boba toys and other products waiting in the wings to come out once the characters make their anticipated debuts on the show. That would be a smart way of keeping those two a secret for the time being, but also being prepared for the inevitable demand. Viewers will more than likely want to get their hands on Ahsoka and Boba Fett toys after they fi
