A new TV spot for The Mandalorian promises more jetpack action in season 2. The second season of Lucasfilm's acclaimed first Disney+ series is rapidly approaching and anticipation is growing by the day. For months, fans only had rumors and speculation to fuel interest in The Mandalorian season 2 as they waited to learn when the series would officially return. Season 2 will arrive on Disney+ at the end of October, which has dramatically increased The Mandalorian's marketing as of late.
The first trailer for season 2 of The Mandalorian arrived about a month ago and gave fans the first look at where Jon Favreau is taking Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and The Child aka Baby Yoda next. Now that there are just a few weeks left before the first season 2 episode arrives on Disney+, Disney is starting to release more footage. A recent TV spot highlighted Baby Yoda and Tatooine in just a few frames of new footage, and the latest footage offers a lot more.
Lucasfilm and Disney released a second TV spot for The Mandalorian season 2 that reveals more jetpack action. Viewers will remember that Din Djarin finally got a jetpack at the end of season 1, but he didn't get too many opportunities to use it. That appears to be changing significantly with season 2, as this new TV spot features some big action scenes involving the jetpack.
Although the trailer features a lot of jetpack action, it is possible that all of these moments are from the same set-piece. We can see Din running with the jetpack on right before he blasts off a platform where Stormtroopers are shooting at him and into the sky. He is next seen landing on the ground, in the superhero landing pose, where multiple Stormtroopers have already been killed. Even if this is all one sequence, the frequency that Din uses the jetpack could show that he's quite comfortable using it in season 2.
This new TV spot for The Mandalorian season 2 might only be 30 seconds long, but there's still more new footage that we haven't seen. Cara Dune (Gina Carano) appears to be shown at the end of a fight and the surroundings are similar to the Gamorrean fight Din and Baby Yoda attended in past footage. She is also shown alongside Din and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) inside an Imperial ship of some kind, which was teased with some official Mandalorian season 2 photos. But, there's also a shot of Greef inside a gunner compartment firing at something. The context of Cara Dune and Greef Karga working with Din and his jetpack action might not be clear yet, but thankfully it won't be long before The Mandalorian season 2 premiere is out.
