David William Moyes is a Scottish professional football coach and former player. He is currently the manager of Premier League club West Ham United. He was previously the manager of Preston North End, Everton, Manchester United, La Liga club Real Sociedad and Sunderland.
Early Life & Career
David Moyes was born in Glasgow, Scotland in April 1963. He was a center back who played his youth career for IBV Vestmannaeyjar and Drumchapel Amateurs. Moyes made his senior career debut in 1980 for Celtic where he played through 1983. From 1983 to 1985 he played for Cambridge United and from 1985 to 1987 for Bristol City. Moyes played for Shrewsbury Town from 1987 to 1990 and for Dunfermline Athletic from 1990 to 1993. He played for Hamilton Academical in 1993 and for Preston North End from 1993 to 1999. He finished his career with 46 goals in 535 caps. Moyes became a manager in 1998, coaching Preston North End until 2002. From 2002 to 2013 he managed Everton. From 2013 to 2014 Moyes managed Manchester United and since 2014 he has managed Real Sociedad. He has been named the LMA Manager of the Year three times.
