New fan art imagines what The Avengers would look like from another universe. Marvel's superhero team first assembled for 2012's The Avengers, which quickly proved to be both a critical and commercial success. Since then, the Avengers have embarked on multiple missions, where they've saved the world countless times.

The Avengers started out with a group of six, as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.),  Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) come together to take down Loki (Tom Hiddleston). However, the group has had quite a few changes since it first assembled. For one, the group adds new members to its roster throughout the films, including Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). In addition, both Iron Man and Black Widow have died by the end of Avengers: Endgame, while Captain America decides to retire. As a result, the Avengers look extremely different than they did back in 2012.

Digital artist artoftimetravel adds another twist by depicting what an alternate universe's Avengers team might look like. Artoftimetravel has included the original line-up of the six founding members; however, each is now played by a different actor. More specifically, artoftimetravel has chosen Tom Cruise as Iron Man, John Krasinski as Cap, Edward Norton as the Hulk, Alexander Skarsgård as Thor, Emily Blunt as Black Widow, and Jensen Ackles as Hawkeye. All characters also wear their iconic costumes; Krasinski, for instance, is carrying Cap's trusty shield. You can check out artoftimetravel's insane Avengers group below:

Artoftimetravel's fan-casting could actually become a reality. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is set to explore the Multiverse in Doctor Strange 2. As such, fans have speculated that he may run into familiar heroes from alternate dimensions. Seeing different actors as the Avengers would be jarring, to say the least. Still, this would be an interesting opportunity to see how other talented stars put their unique twist on Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Avengers: Endgame marked the end of an era. With Marvel powerhouses like Robert Downey Jr. stepping back from the franchise, it seems all but impossible for the founding members of the group to reunite. It's also overwhelmingly clear that anyone who steps into the roles of these heroes—even from different universes—will have incredibly big shoes to fill. However, it does appear that encountering the Avengers from another dimension may be Marvel's best chance at (sort of) reassembling the original squad.
