The reported title for next week's The Mandalorian episode, "The Jedi," strongly hints at Ahsoka Tano's long-awaited debut on the show.
The next Mandalorian episode title strongly hints at Ahsoka Tano's debut on the show. Ahsoka was subject to intense fan backlash when she first appeared in animated form on The Clone Wars, but over time she's become one of the most popular Star Wars characters. That's why there was much excitement when it was reported Rosario Dawson would be playing live-action Ahsoka on The Mandalorian season 2 in what was described as a key supporting role.
Though Disney and Lucasfilm never officially confirmed Dawson's casting, Ahsoka was name-dropped in last week's "The Heiress," and she'll be the Jedi Din Djarin seeks out to help with Baby Yoda. Despite that tantalizing tease at the end of last week's episode, Ahsoka was not seen or mentioned in the most recent episode, "The Siege." Fortunately, for those who can't wait to finally see Ahsoka onscreen, it sounds like she will be a focus next week.
Satellite provider OSN, which airs rebroadcasts of Mandalorian episodes, notes that Chapter 13 (which premieres on Disney+ on November 27) is called "The Jedi." Screen Rant reached out to Disney for official comment and will update this article accordingly if new information comes out.
Considering this is accurate, it all but guarantees Ahsoka will be on The Mandalorian next week. She is the Jedi season 2 is building up to, and now that the Razor Crest is repaired, Din and Baby Yoda can finally travel to Corvus safely and find her. What's more is "The Jedi" is directed by Dave Filoni, who is best known for his work on The Clone Wars and Rebels. Filoni co-created Ahsoka alongside George Lucas, and the character obviously means a lot to him. It's fitting that he be the one who helms Ahsoka's live-action debut and introduces her to an even wider audience. This is a huge moment for Ahsoka and Clone Wars fans, and it's no coincidence Filoni was chosen to direct this particular episode.
Keeping in mind Dawson's Ahsoka isn't a series regular, it will be interesting to see how sizable her role is in The Mandalorian season 2's second half. It wouldn't be surprising if she had a mini-arc that played out over a couple of episodes, with "The Jedi" establishing her part in the story moving forward. Giancarlo Esposito mentioned he used the darksaber filming fight scenes, so he could duel against Ahsoka. It's already been revealed Bo-Katan is key to The Mandalorian's ongoing story, so it's reasonable to assume Ahsoka is as well. Lucasfilm knows how beloved the character is, and it would be disappointing if she was on the show for only an episode. Time will tell, but odds are "The Jedi" won't be the only time Ahsoka appears on The Mandalorian.
