New Rick and Morty Season 5 Trailer Teases Voltron Episode

Adult Swim has released another trailer for the fifth season of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s hit adult-animated series Rick and Morty, which is scheduled to make its return on June 20. The video continues to tease the series’ highly-anticipated ten new episodes, promising more crazy adventures involving a sea-creature man, a giant hybrid turkey-man, more Rick clones, and a Voltron parody episode.

The new trailer release comes on the heels of Adult Swim’s official announcement that they’re currently developing a number of spinoffs based on their popular shows. This includes a Rick and Morty spinoff centered around The Vindicators, a superhero alien team that first appeared in the third season. They’re described as the show’s parody to Marvel and DC films.

Rick and Morty is a half-hour animated series that follows a sociopathic genius scientist, Rick, who drags his inherently timid grandson Morty on insanely dangerous adventures across the multiverse. The titular duo is both voiced by Justin Roiland while the rest of the Smith family are voiced by Sarah Chalke as Beth, Chris Parnell as Jerry, and Spencer Grammer as Summer.

Season 4 featured many big guest stars, including Sam Neill, Kathleen Turner, Taika Waititi, Jeffrey Wright, Pamela Adlon, Justin Theroux, Christopher Meloni, Susan Sarandon, Paul Giamatti, Matthew Broderick and Elon Musk.

Rick and Morty is co-created and executive produced by Justin Roiland (Solar Opposites) and Dan Harmon (Community), with Mike McMahan also serving as an executive producer. Before the fourth season premiered in 2019, the award-winning half-hour animated series has already secured its long-term run as the network ordered 70 new episodes for the series that will be spread over an undetermined number of seasons.
