Madhouse Announces New Anime Film Goodbye, DonGlees!

Madhouse, the studio behind popular anime series The Irregular at Magic High School and One Punch Man, announced it is producing an original anime film titled Goodbye, DonGlees! The main staff members and the first key visual for the upcoming film have been revealed and along with a 2022 release date.https://i0.wp.com/storage.waploaded.com/images/186bc0bc0626c4c27308fc3c6e0049e8.jpgAnimation production will hail from Madhouse, who has worked on several notable anime features and series like Ninja Scroll and Death Note. Distribution will be handled by Kadokawa.

Goodbye, DonGlees! will be directed by Atsuko Ishizuka whose notable works include No Game, No Life Zero, and Supernatural: The Animation series. They have also worked on other projects like Persona 4 Golden. Character design will be handled by Takahiro Yoshimatsu, who has worked on several well-known projects like Trigun, Hunter X Hunter, and Overlord.

The film depicts the miracle-like encounter of the “DonGlees” boys. At the end of an adventure with friends that began during an unusual summer vacation, the boys arrive in Iceland—the land of flames and ice. What “treasure” have the boys found by looking at themselves and transcending the world…!

The official website for Goodbye, DonGlees! is now live. While it doesn’t feature much just yet, it does have a preview of the film’s first key visual.
