DC's Batman is a huge role that has been portrayed from several different angles in its past. With Christopher Nolan's iconic trilogy released in the last 15 years before Ben Affleck took over the role.
Now it is time for a new actor to put on the suit, with Twilight's Robert Pattinson landing the gig.
The Batman Release Date
The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022 after delays due to Covid-19 stopped it from being released in 2021.
If we don't include Batman vs Superman, this will be the first solo Batman movie released in the last decade, since Christian Bale starred in The Dark Knight Rises back in 2012.
The Cast of The Batman
Robert Pattinson is set to play Batman/Bruce Wayne, after Nicholas Hoult was reportedly beaten to the role by the former Twilight star.
Jeffrey Wright will be playing Commissioner Gordon and the role of Catwoman will be played by Zoe Kravitz, as the recurring main roles look to be filled.
The Riddler will also return with Paul Dano taking up the reigns, in the characters first appearance in a live-action Batman movie since Jim Carrey played the role in Batman Forever.
Andy Serkis will be playing Alfred and Colin Farrell is to play Oswald Cobblepot, or more commonly known as The Penguin.
Directing the movie will be none other than Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves, who has co-written the new blockbuster's script alongside Peter Craig.
Dylan Clark will also join Reeves in producing the movie.
After the franchise took a little nose dive in popularity with Ben Affleck's rendition of the role, hopefully Pattinson can look to rejuvenate the character and bring back the success that Christian Bale had in the suit.
