Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels is rumoured to have added Park Seo-joon to the cast.
Representatives for the actor, known for his roles in Netflix K-drama Itaewon Class and Oscar winner Parasite, have confirmed he has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an upcoming movie, but declined to give further details.
They said they wouldn't be revealing the movie, his character, or details of filming until "a later date", but recent reports have suggested that the film is The Marvels.
"We thank the many people who have shown interest and support for Park Seo-joon as he takes on this new challenge," Park's representatives told Soompi.
"We are well aware that many people are curious about the name of the film in which he will be appearing, his character, the filming location, and his filming schedule, but we plan to reveal the details of the movie at a later date."
If the speculation regarding The Marvels is true, he'll join Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton and Samuel L Jackson in the sequel to the 2019 Marvel hit.
Although they are keeping the plot close to their chests, Parris recently teased to ComicBook that the sequel would show fans what happened in the 30-year gap between the events of Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.
Carol Danvers actress Larson has updated fans on how filming is going and she said it's like walking into her "own private Disneyland" every day.
"It's pretty surreal when you're doing films like this, they're unlike anything else: huge sets, huge amount of people on set, a lot of specialist specialty things. It's a really unique experience," she told SiriusXM.
"I'm a huge fan of Disneyland, so to me, it feels like I get to go to my own private Disneyland every single day because they're building all these insane worlds that no one else knows about, no one else gets to see.
"I'm in sets that are bigger than you can imagine right now and it's really special, and it's super fun and bizarre."
