According to Deadline, Transformers alum Megan Fox, and singer-actor Tyson Ritter (Preacher) have officially been tapped for two of the leading roles in the upcoming thriller film titled Johnny And Clyde, which is being described as a fresh new take on the infamous Bonnie and Clyde story. However, Fox and Ritter won’t be portraying the titular leads, but will instead play the respective roles of crime boss Alana, and her head of security.
“I am very excited to have Megan play the role of Alana,” director Chad A. Verdi said in a statement. “She’s a brilliant actress who will bring this character to life like no one else could. I love Tyson’s energy and can’t wait for him and Megan to go head-to-head.”
Johnny And Clyde will be directed by Tom DeNucci (Vault) along with Chad A. Verdi (The Irishman) who will also produce through his Verdi Productions banner. Despite not yet casting its titular leads, production is already underway in Rhode Island with the chosen lead actors expected to start filming next month.
“The film follows the two eponymous serial killers who are madly in love and on an endless crime spree,” reads the synopsis. “They have their sights set on robbing a prosperous casino run by crime boss and her head of security.”
