Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Movie Release Date, Cast and Plot

Guardians of the Galaxy 3's road to the big screen hasn't been quite as straightforward as fans would have hoped, but Marvel enthusiasts can allow themselves to get excited now that a release date has been specified.

Director and writer James Gunn has already started fuelling the fire of excitement around the film, branding it as "huge" still some way ahead of its release.

When is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3's release date?

Marvel have finally confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will finally be released on May 5, 2023. Though it is still a long way away at just under two years, it does allow fans to have a fixed date to look forward to.

Filming is set to start this November, at least as per both Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista for at least six months, though it will also involve filming for the upcoming Holiday Special, as explained by Gunn.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is set to air on Disney+ in December 2022, and Gunn has said that he will shoot it at the same time as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3.

Who makes up the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3?

Chris Pratt will star again as Star-Lord, and there will also be Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot and Pom Klementieff as Mantis. Avengers: Endgame, also revealed that we'll be seeing Zoe Saldana as Gamora again.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 plot: What will it be about?

So far, Gunn has only promised an "epic conclusion" to the story he began in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, but specific plot details have not yet been revealed.
