Hulu has released the first teaser for the upcoming new adult-animated series, Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, featuring the voices of Fred Tatasciore and Jason Sudeikis, who just recently dominated the 2021 Emmys with Ted Lasso winning seven awards including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Sudeikis. The series is scheduled to make its debut on November 17, exclusively on Hulu.
The Hit-Monkey teaser, which you can check out below, introduces us to one badass Japanese snow monkey, who can definitely give John Wick a run for his money. The video also highlights his action-packed missions, while also teasing his connection to Sudeikis’ Bryce.
Based on the character created by Daniel Way, and Dalibor Talajić, Marvel’s Hit Monkey centers around a Japanese snow monkey, aided by the ghost of an American assassin, who goes on a revenge quest and becomes the famous “killer of killers.” The adult-animated series will feature the voices of Fred Tatasciore as Monkey, Jason Sudeikis as Bryce, George Takei as Shinji, Olivia Munn as Akiko, Ally Maki as Haruka, and Nobi Nakanishi as Ito.
“Monkey’s peaceful existence in the Japanese alps is shattered by the tragic loss of his tribe—setting him on a course of revenge and violence in the very world of humans that are responsible for his plight,” reads the official character description of the lead character. “He’s a killer of killers with a bit of a rage problem. Throughout the series, he must learn to navigate the struggle between his inherently sweet nature and the evil acts he must commit. It’s through his complicated friendship with the Ghost of Bryce (a former assassin and now, Monkey’s unwanted conscience), that will determine whether Monkey will be consumed by his rage or channel it for good.”
Marvel’s Hit Monkey is 10-episode series created and executive produced by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, who are also serving as showrunners. It is executive produced by Keith Foglesong, Matt Thompson, and Neal Holman, with Duffy Boudreau, Mollie Brock, and Marcus Rosentrater set as producers.
