DC Comics' hit movie for 2022 is set to be the release of 'Black Adam', the story of a supervillain inspired by comics about the nemesis of Captain Marvel.
Starring Dwayne Johnson in the lead role, there is great expectation for the latest in a series of supervillain films, which continue to grab the attention of fans.
Alongside 'The Batman', it will be DC Comics' biggest launch following on from 'The Suicide Squad' and 'Justice Society: World War II' in 2021.
When is the release date for 'Black Adam'?
'Black Adam' was originally pencilled in for release on December 22, 2021, but was forced back due to production challenges brought on by the pandemic.
The new date, as revealed by Johnson on Instagram, is July 29, 2022.
Filming began in April 2021 and is currently on track to be ready for the July launch, which was confirmed in March.
Who is in the 'Black Adam' cast?
Johnson, better known as 'The Rock', takes the lead role as Black Adam, and is joined by several other stars.
Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan portrays Dr. Fate, while Sarah Shahi plays Adrianna Tomaz.
Among the rest of the cast are Noah Centineo as Al Rothstein, Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkell and Marwan Kenzari and Uli Latukefu in unconfirmed roles.

The first trailer for the latest instalment of DC Comics' film was released before filming had even begun in August 2020, in an animated sequence voiced by Dwayne Johnson.
The trailer gave insight into the story of Black Adam's escape from prison, but did not include any footage due to the challenges of filming.
A second trailer was released in July 2021, using the same voiceover, featuring clips of Johnson, dramatically fighting off armies and lions in a range of settings.
