With the release of DC's 'The Batman' and Marvel's new 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' film, 2021 looks to be a jam-packed year for fans of superhero movies. The latest project coming to theatres will equally please animal fans. While 'DC League of Super-Pets' may not attract as many eyes at face value as Batman and Spider-Man, the confirmed voice cast of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart is bound to bring the fans.
The film is set for release on May 20, 2022, and will document a story of crime fighting pets as Superman goes on holiday. While the superhero is away from the action, his dog teams up with a flying cat to stop crime and save the city.
What is the cast of 'DC League of Super-Pets'?
A star-studded voice cast has been revealed, with the likes of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart leading the line as Krypto the Superdog and Ace the Bat-Hound respectively.
Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Michael Douglas, Jameela Jamil, Diego Luna and Keanu Reeves also feature. However, the only two characters to have been confirmed as of yet are those of Johnson and Hart.
Hiram Garcia is set to co-produce the movie and is particularly pleased that the project is nearly finished. "This is such a huge project that we've been working on for a while, so we were thrilled when we finally made the announcement", Garcia said. "We've all always been big DC fans at heart, so to be able to play in this space and tell these stories, based on these beloved characters, is truly an honour."
What is the DC League of Super-Pets' release date?
The film has been in the works since July 2018, when Jared Stern was hired to write and direct. Now, the film is finally not far away from reaching our screens.
It is due to be released in cinemas in the United States on May 20, 2022, just in time for the summer season.
