Ahead of the popular teen dramedy’s return this Monday, Netflix has revealed the opening minutes of the upcoming premiere of The Baby-Sitters Club‘s highly-anticipated second season. The 8-minute long clip begins with Kristy still struggling to adjust to her new house and neighborhood. It also gives us a glimpse into the club’s first meeting after the summer as well as the official introduction of Kyndra Sanchez as the new Dawn.
Netflix’s newest series adaptation of The Baby-Sitters Club is based on Ann M. Martin’s best-selling book series that centers around the friendship and adventures of Kristy Thomas, Mary-Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer as the middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut.
“In Season 2, as demand for their club continues to grow, founders Kristy Thomas, Mary-Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer have now welcomed Mallory Pike and Jessi Ramsey to their ranks,” reads the synopsis. “With the new school year comes booming business, new relationships, personal journeys, and important lessons, but through it all the club is there for each other every step of the way.”
The series is being led by Sophia Grace, Malia Baker, Momona Tamada, Stacey McGill, and Kyndra Sanchez, who replaces Xochitl Gomez for the role of Dawn. Joining them are Vivian Watson, Anais Lee, Alicia Silverstone, Mark Feuerstein. and Marc Evan Jackson.
The Baby-Sitters Club is created and executive produced by Rachel Shukert (Glow), who is also serving as the showrunner. Executive producers are Lucia Aniello, Michael De Luca, Lucy Kitada, Sascha Rothchild, Naia Cucukov, Ben Forrer, and Frank Smith, with author Ann M. Martin attached as a producer.
