Oscar nominee Samuel L. In his post, the long-time MCU actor expresses his delight in playing Nick Fury again, while sporting a Nick Fury snap-inspired shirt. This marks the thirteenth time that Jackson will be portraying the former S.H.I.E.L.D director. He recently voiced the character in four episodes of Disney+’s What If…? series.

Disney+’s Secret Invasion is set as a 6-episode series that will be led by MCU mainstay Samuel L. Jackson as he reprises his role as Nick Fury for the twelfth time in live-action since first portraying the character in 2008’s Iron Man. He will be teaming up with Captain Marvel‘s Ben Mendelsohn, who is returning as Talos, the pseudo-leader of the Skrulls.

Joining them are MCU newcomers Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami) as the series’ main villain, Oscar winner Olivia Colman (The Crown), Emmy nominee Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Killian Scott (Dublin Murders), and Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), with Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts) recently rumored to be in negotiations to join the series.

Based on Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales, and Laura Martin’s comic book series, Secret Invasion is executive produced by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot), with Let Him Go director Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) set as directors. Production on the series is expected to begin later this year in Europe.

Marvel Comics’ eight-part limited crossover series centered on a subversive, long-term invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a group of alien shapeshifters who have secretly replaced many superheroes in the Marvel Universe with impostors over a period of years, prior to the invasion.
