Ubah, who spoke in Lagos at an event tagged, ‘My Conversation with Ndi Anambra in Lagos’, disclosed that the Federal Government had perfected plans to deploy adequate policemen to the state a week to the election.

He urged the people to be getting prepared to vote for their preferred candidate during the election, as it is their civic right.

While reading out his manifesto, Ubah stated that he has the vision for a calm, stable, assured and predictable security climate in Anambra, stressing that the safety of lives and property of the people was non-negotiable.

He added that the safety of the people was a necessary precondition for the development of the state and bring to fruition the possibility of a new Anambra State.

“Anambra is embattled by security concerns and threats, which may escalate and completely devastate the socio-economic development of the state if a timely and holistic intervention is not put in place,” he said.

Ubah added that safeguarding the people’s businesses, promoting and preserving indigenous trading skills and establishing a thriving corporate subsistence in the state was some of his priorities.

“This is achievable only through modernisation of Anambra security system, and reinforcing this to efficiently support community policing, while operating effectively within the nation’s laws,” he added.

Ubah stressed that human capital development and social inclusion would form part of the focus of his administration if he wins the election, noting that economic progression achieved by any society was strongly associated with the quality of its human capital and social interaction.

“We will prioritise human capital development and social inclusion as central anchors of our developmental pursuit. According to available records, HDI for Anambra State is 0.47 on a scale of 0 to 1,” he said.

He added that education would be the anchor of the HDI, saying that Anambra State invested elaborately in education between 2006 and 2014, an action that ranked the state best in education outcome until recent times.

“Our educational policy thrust is to guarantee equitable and affordable access to quality education through transformative and innovative approaches driven by improved education infrastructure, highly qualified and professional workforce coupled with vocational and digital learning.

“My administration will position the reformation of education and systematic training as a top priority with the sole purpose of empowering the Anambra youth with skills and opportunities to achieve their dreams while ensuring that the growing ones who go into trading before completing basic education are given the opportunity to catch up with further educational aspirations,” he noted.
