Announced during a brief segment for the podcast at the annual DC FanDome event, Rodriguez and Witwer will also be joined by Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jim Pirri, and Jessica Marie Garcia, who have been confirmed for the cast. The newly announced cast will join the likes of Winston Duke, Hasan Minhaj, Lance Reddick, Toks Olagundoye, Jason Isaacs, John Rhys-Davies, and Ashly Burch, who were also previously announced.
The upcoming scripted podcast Batman Unburied has rounded out its cast, as Gina Rodriguez, Sam Witwer, and a handful of other actors have officially joined the series.
The new Batman Unburied cast additions include:
Gina Rodriguez as Barbara Gordon, daughter of police commissioner Jim Gordon, and someone who is operating as The Caped Crusader, a superhero in Gotham.
Sam Witwer as The Harvester, a cannibalistic serial killer that Wayne is attempting to stop.
Emmy Raver-Lampman as Kell, a medical student who assists Bruce Wayne.
Jim Pirri as Arnold Flass, a corrupt police officer in Gotham.
Jessica Marie Garcia as Renee Montoya, the friend and partner to police commissioner Jim Gordon.
Batman Unburied is a new spin on the story of Batman, with Wayne no longer being a billionaire playboy, but a forensic pathologist instead. “When audiences meet Bruce Wayne he is a forensic pathologist, working in the bowels of Gotham Hospital and tasked with examining the victims of The Harvester, a gruesome serial killer preying on Gotham’s citizens,” reads the official logline for the podcast. “Not only will the superhero be forced to face his own mental demons, but he will also have to overcome them in order to save the citizens of Gotham as his alter-ego Batman.”
Batman Unburied comes from screenwriter David S. Goyer, and is written by Eric Carrasco, Saladin Ahmed, and Rebecca Klingel, with Graham Westerson also attached as a writer and executive producer. Batman Unburied will be available on Spotify when it does release.
