Regina King to Helm Netflix's A Man in Full Miniseries From David E. Kelley

According to Variety, Netflix has officially given a limited series order to the forthcoming TV adaptation of A Man in Full, based on Tom Wolfe’s 1998 drama novel of the same name. The project hails from Emmy-winning creator David E. Kelley and Oscar winner Regina King, who is attached to direct the first three episodes.

“All I can say is when David E. Kelley calls, you just say yes,” King said in a statement. “I know this partnership will produce something special.”

Kelley added, “A passion project for me, no doubt. The opportunity to tackle Tom Wolfe’s brilliant and prescient novel, to have Regina helming — I could not be more excited.”

The A Man in Full series will be comprised of six hour-long episodes which will be written and executive produced by Kelley. He is best known for being the creator of a number of acclaimed dramas including L.A. Law, Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, The Practice, Ally McBeal, Big Little Lies, and The Undoing.

The miniseries will center around Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker as he faces sudden bankruptcy. Because of this, political and business interests collide leading to Charlie trying to defend his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.

The series will be executive produced by King and Reina King through their Royal Ties Productions along with Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions.

This marks King’s latest collaboration with the streamer, after starring in the recently released western action film The Harder They Fall. Meanwhile, Kelley is also currently working with Netflix on a brand new legal drama titled The Lincoln Lawyer.
