Marvel Studios Confirms Harry Styles’ Eternals Character in New Poster

The award-winning singer-songwriter has been tapped to portray Eros a.k.a Starfox, who surprised the film’s first wave of viewers when he suddenly appeared during the mid-credits scene.

In the post, the studio described Harry Styles’ Eternals character with many titles including “the Royal Prince of Titan, brother of Thanos, the Knave of Hearts, defeater of Black Roger, and the great adventurer.” The superhero was created by Jim Starlin in 1973. In the comics, he has the power to physically control or influence other people’s emotions. This marks the first time that the character has been adapted to the screen.

Based on Jack Kirby’s Marvel comics of the same name, Eternals welcomes an exciting new team of superheroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.

The film stars Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena, and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman.

Eternals was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao (Nomadland) from a screenplay co-written by Matthew K. Firpo and Ryan Firpo. It was produced by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Nate Moore.

Since its theatrical release last November 5, Marvel Studios’ latest star-studded MCU film currently sits at a gross of over $280 million worldwide. Despite receiving mixed reviews, it was still the second-largest worldwide opening weekend for a Hollywood film since the pandemic began.
