Members of the group said they took the step to save Nigeria from misrule and incompetence.

The spokesperson for the group, Yunusa Tanko, said this in a statement titled, ‘NCFront Leaders of Conscience Of The “Third Force” Movement In Nigeria Set Up Shadow Government To Save Nigeria From Misrule And Incompetence, in Abuja.’

He said the leaders of conscience were compelled to take action to halt Nigeria’s further slide.

Tanko said, “The Third Force Movement initiated by National Consultative Front, is again compelled to intervene in Nigeria’s growing misrule and national confusion by setting up a formidable national shadow government to provide alternative interventions and solutions to problems of national governance in the various sectors of Nigeria’s political and economic endeavours

“Consequently, we wish to use this medium to call on all well-meaning Nigerians across party lines and in the broad civil society to embrace and support this historic shadow cabinet initiated by the National Consultative Front.

“Therefore, as earlier announced by our movement that a shadow cabinet will be inaugurated sequel to our Steering Committee meeting held on the 29th of November 2021, which was saddled with the approval of the tentative list of the shadow cabinet, we hereby wish to announce the tasks and members of the shadow cabinet as follows:

“Terms of Reference: To address and intervene in all National issues as it affects each of the portfolios designated; to raise alternative perspectives on positions presented by the government with facts and figures; to set up task teams to intervene in relevant sectors of the Nigerian polity and economy.”

Some of those appointed into the ‘shadow government’ include ACG A. Wakili (retd.) (Lead Speaker); Chief Razak Eyiwuawi (Lead Speaker), Agriculture and Rural Development; Dr F. Ikechuku (Lead Speaker) Health; Alice Ebun Adeyemi (Lead Speaker) Commerce and Industry, and Chief Peter Ameh (Lead Speaker), Works and Infrastructural Development, among others.
