Zendaya Spent Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Most Intense Action Scenes Knitting

Zendaya is set to star in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, and during a recent press appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the actress revealed how she passed time on the set of the film.

During her appearance alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya revealed her love of knitting, and noted that she attempted to knit together a rug, but promptly gave up after it became “too tedious.”

“I tried to start a new hobby while we were shooting Spider-Man,” Zendaya said. “I got one of those, I don’t know if you guys have them, but they’re little rugs that you can make, and you basically, yarn-by-yarn, you attach the thing and it color coordinates to a thing, I chose puppies. I got about four squares in and I was like ‘I’m done with this, this is too tedious for me.’ So I got like, a little corner of a rug.”

The actress went on to reveal that her mother taught her how to knit, and that while she only knows how to make scarves, she was able to make the cast scarves for Christmas. Tom Holland then spoke up about how he would be busy filming some big fight scenes and would often catch the actress on set knitting.

“We’d be doing the most intense fight scenes on set … and I’d be there, blood all over my face, I’d been fighting the Goblin, and I’d turn around and [she would] just be there knitting,” said Holland.

Spider-Man: No Way Home sees the return of Tom Holland as the beloved titular wall-crawler, who will now be joined by Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. The threequel will also feature the return of Spider-Man vets Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) as Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe (Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy), Jamie Foxx (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) as Electro, Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3) as Sandman, and Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man) as Lizard.

Joining them are Zendaya (Euphoria, Dune) as MJ, Jacob Batalon (50 States of Fright) as Ned, Marisa Tomei (The King of Staten Island) as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy, Tony Revolori (The French Dispatch) as Flash, and Hannibal Buress (Tag) as Coach Wilson.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is once again directed by Jon Watts from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.
