Blumhouse’s Patrick Wilson-Directed Insidious 5 Sets Production Start
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Aquaman star Patrick Wilson confirmed that production on Blumhouse’s forthcoming fifth installment to the horror franchise Insidious is expected to begin sometime this spring. It has been over a year since the project was first announced, and now Wilson has finally opened uJp about his directorial debut’s pre-production process.
“It’s something that I’m super passionate about, and there hasn’t been a day since they pitched me the idea that I haven’t been all in,” Wilson shared. “It’s been a lot of work by Scott Teems, the writer, and me. And Leigh Whannell has helped out obviously a ton, and of course Blumhouse is a great partner. I’ve done a bunch of stuff with them, so I couldn’t be happier to have my first experience with a very helpful and comfortable group of people that, for some reason, trust me. So, we’ll see.”
Insidious 5 will once again shift focus the story on the Lambert family, who fans last saw in the 2013’s Insidious: Chapter 2, where Josh and Dalton decided to suppress their memories in order to prevent them from Astral projecting and going into The Further ever again. The new film will see the story pick up a decade after the events of Chapter 2, with Dalton heading off to college and coming to grips with his astral projection abilities as well as growing up.
