John Wick Prequel The Continental Casts The Adjudicator and More

According to Deadline, Starz continues to expand the ensemble cast of the upcoming John Wick prequel series The Continental with the addition of five new cast members.

This includes Supergirl alum Katie McGrath, who has been tapped to portray the role of The Adjudicator, an agent of The High Table who was first introduced in 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The character was portrayed by Asia Kate Dillon in the film.

Ray McKinnon (Rectify) Adam Shapiro (Never Have I Ever), Mark Musashi (Fear of the Walking Dead), and Marina Mazepa (Malignant) have also been cast in the three-part event series, portraying the respective roles of Jenkins, Lemmy, Hansel, and Gretel with the latter two described as High Table assassins.

The Continental will star Colin Woodell as the young Winston, newcomer Ayomide Adegun as the young Charon, Mel Gibson as Cormac, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD, Nhung Kate as Yen, Ben Robson as Frankie, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie and Jeremy Bobb as Mayhew.

“Set 40 years before the events of the films, the upcoming prequel spinoff centers around a young man named Winston, who will one day grow up to be the character played by Ian McShane in the Wick movies,” reads the synopsis. “In the prequel set against the backdrop of 1970s New York, fans will find a young Winston as an up-and-coming hitman hotelier who, along with others, create a haven for unsavory types.”

The titular hotel was first introduced in the first installment of the John Wick films as a safe haven for assassins and has been a primary location in the film franchise. Each installment of the event series is expected to be 90-minutes long and will premiere through the course of three consecutive nights.

The Continental was first announced in 2017 by franchise creators Chad Stahelski and Derek Kolstad. It is being executive produced by Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward, who are serving as showrunners. Executive producers are Kolstad, Stahelski, Basil Iwanyk, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Erica Lee.
