Lyric Ross Joins Marvel's Disney+ Series Ironheart
This Is Us star Lyric Ross (Sirens, Chicago Fire) is joining Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos in Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series Ironheart, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Thorne is playing Riri Williams aka Ironheart, and Ross is set to portray Riri’s best friend in the series. It is rumored that Ramos could be playing the villain.
Thorne’s Riri Williams is described as “a brilliant teenager who, in the comics, built her own version of the Iron Man suit in an MIT dorm.” In the comics, she sometimes took over for Tony Stark as Iron Man. The character the series is based on was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato, and first debuted in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 #7 in 2016.
Thorne will first see her character arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the highly anticipated sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer) is the head writer for Ironheart. The series is expected to begin production this June in Atlanta.
