Uncharted Creative Director Developing Star Wars Game
Uncharted Creative Director Developing Star Wars Game
Some may be a little apprehensive about hearing that Hennig is working on a Star Wars game, not because of perceived quality, but because of what happened last time she was involved in the franchise.
During her time at Visceral Games, Electronic Arts unceremoniously canceled her project, which was codenamed Ragtag and sounded eerily like the vague pitch for this current Skydance game. Kotaku posted a damning report of the Ragtag‘s demise, which only gave people more of a look at the promising game they’d never get to play (the artwork has since been taken off since G/O Media removed all pictures from articles before 2019, but it can be found here).
While no one referenced that tragic cancelation, Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly did speak to Hennig and the team.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working again with Amy,” said Reilly. “She and the Skydance New Media team have the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure. Their vision for making inviting, cinematic interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. We’re working hard with their team of experienced and talented developers, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with Star Wars fans when the time is right.”
It will probably be some time before Skydance, a studio designed to create “high-fidelity, richly interactive experiences” and “narrative-driven interactive entertainment.” announces what this game is. There aren’t any hints at what it could be, making it a bit different from its Marvel game that some are guessing could be related to the Fantastic Four.
