Marvel Studios has revealed another Ms. Marvel TV spot for its upcoming Disney+ series, starring newcomer Iman Vellani as the titular hero. It is scheduled to make its debut on Wednesday, June 8.
The video, which you can check out below, features lots of new footage teasing the beginning of Kamala Khan’s superhero journey as she discovers that it isn’t as fabulous and heroic as she originally thought it would be.
Ms. Marvel stars newcomer Iman Vellani in her acting debut as Kamala Khan, which also marks the live-action debut of the fan-favorite Marvel character. Joining Vellani are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha.
“The series introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City,” reads the official synopsis. “An aspiring artist, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she is a huge fan of the Avengers—and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.”
Ms. Marvel is directed by executive producers Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with executive producer Bisha K. Ali serving as head writer.
Following the series, Vellani’s teen hero will next be seen in Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel sequel titled The Marvels starring opposite Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris, which is currently set for a February 17, 2023 release.
