According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows, and will also see Momoa attached as a producer with partner Jeff Fierson, Dan Lin, and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback.

Currently, no plot details are being known, but the report does mention that the film is being described “as a family-centric adventure that has tones of James Cameron’s True Lies, Liam Neeson action flick Taken, and the recent Paramount hit, The Lost City.”

For Momoa, this marks yet another project that he’s set to appear in, with the actor also starring in the upcoming Fast X, as well as the highly anticipated Aquaman sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is set to release on March 17, 2023. Momoa also has another project, Netflix’s fantasy comedy-adventure film Slumberland, which is slated to premiere sometime in 2022.

The writing duo of Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows has previously on the 2018 Netflix comedy The Package, and are also currently developing the comedy Stoned Alone, a reimagining of Home Alone about a 20-something-year-old stoner.
