Apple TV+ has released an official trailer for Five Days at Memorial, the forthcoming limited series adaptation of Sheri Fink’s 2013 non-fiction book of the same name. The drama will be available for streaming on August 12 with the first three episodes, followed by new episodes weekly every Friday through September 16.
The video offers us a glimpse of the harrowing events following Hurricane Katrina, as a group of nurses and caregivers at a New Orleans hospital are forced to make heartbreaking decisions to help their patients.
Five Days at Memorial is an 8-episode miniseries starring Vera Farmiga, Robert Pine, Cherry Jones, Julie Ann Emery, Cornelius Smith Jr., Adepero Oduye, Molly Hager, Michael Gaston and W. Earl Brown
“The series is based on actual events chronicling the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a local hospital,” reads the synopsis. “When the floodwaters rose, power failed, and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years to come.”
Five Days at a Memorial is executive produced, directed, and written by Carlton Cuse and John Ridley. It hails from ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, with Wendey Stanzler also directing.
