Aquaman 2, Shazam 2 Release Dates Reportedly Might Move Again
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rumor mill is in full swing about whether Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods will release on their currently planned dates.
Warner Bros. Discovery is apparently contemplating moving the two sequels’ release dates, which are currently December 21 for Shazam! Fury of the Gods and March 17, 2023 for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. There’s no word on when the new dates would be, though we’d be likely to find out after Warner Bros. Discovery’s earnings call this Thursday.
This potential reshuffling comes right after the release date for the sequel to Joker, titled Joker: Folie A Deux, was revealed. Not only that, but the reportedly completed Batgirl film was canceled only a day ago, making it difficult to say just what is going on over at Warner Bros. Discovery.
The news comes amidst a turbulent time for the DCEU, as earlier this year, reports also surfaced that hinted at Warner Bros. Discovery looking to re-examine the current state of the DCEU. With potentially only three films — Black Adam, The Flash, and Blue Beetle — having concrete release dates as of now, it’s anyone’s guess as to what the future holds for the world of DC Films.
