As pre-production continues on Deadpool 3, it has been confirmed that leading star Ryan Reynolds has started his preparations to reprise his iconic role in Marvel Studios’ first confirmed X-Men film.
Coach Don Saladino took to Instagram to confirm that Reynolds has officially resumed his Deadpool training, after more than four years since the theatrical release of Deadpool 2.
Saladino has been Reynolds’ trainer since the first two Deadpool films. Besides the Free Guy star, Saladino has also trained Marvel Cinematic Universe vet Sebastian Stan into his Winter Soldier physique. Recently, it was revealed that he trained David Harbour into his new Hopper appearance in Stranger Things Season 4.
Deadpool 3 is now being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously assured fans that it will remain as an R-rated film just like the first two movies, which would make it the studio’s first movie with the said mature rating.
It will serve as the first movie in the Deadpool film series that will be released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. A release date for the movie has not yet been announced.
The first two Deadpool films are both box-office successes as they earned a combined worldwide gross of over $1.5 billion. They were both written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with the first one directed by Tim Miller and Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch.
