The latest She-Hulk installment brought back Tim Rooth’s Emil Blonsky, a.k.a. Abomination, whose return helped fans figure out where the show is in the MCU timeline. After much speculation, some hints scattered throughout She-Hulk Episode 2 indicate when Jennifer Walters’ (Tatiana Maslany) adventures go down.

Where Does She-Hulk Fit in the MCU Timeline?

She-Hulk takes place after or during the events of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the MCU timeline. In “Superhuman Law,” Jennifer was offered to represent Abomination for his parole. After consulting with her cousin Bruce (Mark Ruffalo), Jennifer takes on the case. Too bad that Abomination has escaped from prison in the meantime, and he’s shown on the evening news as he takes part in an underground fight club, which is clearly the Golden Daggers Club, the bar owned by Xu Xialing (Meng’er Zhang) in Macau. While not explicitly stated, Abomination’s opponent is Wong (Benedict Wong).

Marvel fans have already noticed that the same fight appears in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. During the fight, Wong made the most out of his powers and used portals so that Abomination knocks himself out. Eventually, it turned out that Wong and Abomination were part of the same team as they were comfortably chatting in the locker room. Before Shang-Chi was up to step into the cage, Wong opened a portal and took Abomination back to his special cellar in prison.

Some more hidden Easter eggs help collocate She-Hulk. Following her clash with Titania, Jennifer lost her job and went job-hunting on the Net. While surfing a news page, she bumped into a series of eye-catching headlines. The first one read “Man Fights With Metal Claws In Bar Brawl,” a reference to Wolverine. Another sidebar headline asked, “Why is There a Giant Statue of a Man Sticking Out of the Ocean?” implying that what fans saw in Eternals had already happened and the Emergence had been stopped.
