Doctor Strange 2 BTS Photo Shows Balder the Brave

Though he didn’t appear in the final cut of the movie, a brief glimpse at what Balder the Brave would have looked like in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available.

The tiny look comes courtesy of CC Ice, Elizabeth Olsen’s stunt double on the film. In the image captured from the segment, Elizabeth Olsen can be seen standing off to the side, as a scene of destruction occurs behind her. In the center of the show, however, is Balder, dressed in his iconic comic attire and killed by what looks to be a sword stabbed through him.

In the film, after Strange arrives in an alternative universe and is captured by that universe’s Mordo, he’s taken to The Illuminati — a group that consists of Mordo, Captain Marvel (played by Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (played by Hayley Atwell), Black Bolt, Professor X (played by Patrick Stewart), and perhaps the biggest cameo of the bunch, Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, played by none other than John Krasinski.

Prior to the Illuminati appearing in the film, rumors swirled that Balder the Brave would appear in some form, with some even suggesting that Daniel Craig would have played the role in a cameo. While this didn’t end up happening in the movie, earlier this month, storyboards surfaced that showed not only Balder the Brave in the group, but also the Iron Monger variant of Iron Man.
