Previous boss Jesse Marsch was given his marching orders on Monday following a poor run of form which has dragged the Whites into another relegation scrap.

The 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest proved to be the final straw, capping off an awful few months which have seen Leeds win just twice in 17 league games.

Above the bottom three only by virtue of goal difference, Leeds face back-to-back games against rivals Man Utd and have now confirmed the coaching staff who will guide the squad through Wednesday's first game.

A statement reads: "Following the announcement of the departure of head coach Jesse Marsch earlier today [Monday], Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will take training at Thorp Arch on Tuesday and will be in the dugout for Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford."

90min understands Leeds expect to have appointed their new permanent boss by the time the two teams meet again on Sunday.

Carlos Corberan is Leeds' priority target to succeed Marsch. The 39-year-old has impressed at West Brom since his appointment in 2022 and has the Baggies in contention for a Championship play-off spot, with Leeds sporting director Victor Orta a big admirer.

West Brom are already looking at potential replacements should they lose Corberan to Leeds.
