Migration Trailer Previews Illumination’s Next Movie After Super Mario Bros.

A brief Migration trailer for Illumination’s upcoming film has been released, showcasing a family of ducks making their way South for the winter and the chaos that comes with it.

The new film hasn’t had much about it announced, but the project will be directed by Benjamin Renner, with a script written by Mike White (The White Lotus). Judging by the voices in the trailer, as well, the film will also feature Kumail Nanjiani in a lead role.

Illumination and Nintendo’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie is out today, and the company also has Despicable Me 4 set for a 2024 release.

Migration will follow the story of a family of ducks, with Illumination describing it as “modern-day comedy following a family of ducks who convince their over-protective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime as they attempt to migrate from New England, through New York City, and ultimately down to the Bahamas.”
