American Horror Story Season 12 Adds Kim Kardashian in Lead Role

According to The Hollywood Reporter, reality TV star Kim Kardashian has signed on for the leading role in FX‘s upcoming 12th season of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story, which will be titled Delicate.

She will be joined by AHS alum Emma Roberts, who has returned to the long-running anthology series four years after appearing in the ninth season — American Horror Story: 1984. Production is expected to begin later this month in New York City.

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” co-creator Murphy said in a statement. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

American Horror Story: Delicate will be the first season to be based off of source material — specifically Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition. The next installment will be written and executive produced by Halley Feiffer, who will also serve as the showrunner. This marks Feiffer’s latest collaboration with Murphy after being one of the writers for Impeachment: American Crime Story.

“The Push meets The Silent Patient in a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens — while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says,” reads the novel’s synopsis.

Delicate will be executive produced by Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Scott Robertson. The network is currently planning to release the latest season this coming summer.
