The Mother Trailer: Jennifer Lopez Seeks Vengeance in Netflix Thriller

Netflix has dropped the official The Mother trailer for the upcoming action thriller featuring Jennifer Lopez as an assassin who will do everything she can to protect her daughter. The film will be available for streaming on May 12.

The Mother trailer teases some of the film’s suspense-filled action sequences, which involve Lopez’s character hunting down enemies who have kidnapped the daughter she had to give up long ago. It also provides viewers with their first look at Gael García Bernal’s antagonistic character, Hector Alvarez.

The Mother is directed by Niki Caro (Mulan) from a screenplay written by Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) with revisions by Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton). The film stars Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Fiennes as Adrian Lovell, Lucy Paez as Zoe, Omari Hardwick as FBI agent William Cruise, Paul Raci as Jons, and Gael García Bernal as arms dealer Hector Alvarez.

“A deadly female assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men,” reads the logline.

The Mother is executive produced by Lopez and Elaine Goldsmith Thomas through their Nuyorican Productions. Green and Benny Medina are producing along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. Catherine Hagedorn has also boarded the project as an executive producer while Courtney Baxter also serves as an associate producer.
