Wrath of Becky Red-Band Trailer Previews Bloody Sequel

Following the teaser trailer dropping in March, Quiver Distribution has dropped the full The Wrath of Becky trailer for the follow-up to 2020’s independent action thriller film. The sequel features the return of Annabelle: Creation star Lulu Wilson as the titular anti-hero. The sequel is scheduled to make its debut in theaters on May 26.

The video opens with 16-year-old Becky as she narrates what she’s been up to for the past two years since defeating the neo-Nazis who killed her father in the first film. It highlights Becky’s next revenge-fueled adventure involving a group of right-wing extremists who are planning to start an insurrection at a Town Hall. The titular heroine gets in the group’s way after they steal her dog.

The Wrath of Becky is directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote and written by Angel from a story by Angel and Coote. Joining Wilson are Seann William Scott, Denise Burse, Jill Larson, Courtney Gains, Michael Sirow, Aaron Dalla Villa, Matt Angel, and Kate Siegel.

“Two years after she escaped a violent attack on her family, Becky attempts to rebuild her life in the care of an older woman — a kindred spirit named Elena,” reads the synopsis. “But when a group known as the ‘Noble Men’ break into their home, attack them, and take her beloved dog, Diego, Becky must return to her old ways to protect herself and her loved ones.”

Executive producers are Wilson, Scott, and Nick Morris, along with the first film’s directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion. The sequel is produced by Russ Posternak, Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Tracy Rosenblum, Chadd Harbold, Jordan Yale Levine, and Jordan Beckerman. Quiver Distribution’s Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman, and Larry Greenberg are also executive producing.

The original film also starred Joel McHale, Kevin James, and Amanda Brugel. It followed a rebellious 14-year-old girl whose weekend getaway with her father takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick, suddenly invade the lake house.
