The company announced that Beetlejuice 2 will release on September 6, 2024, making the highly anticipated sequel just over a year away. The movie will once again star Michael Keaton as the titular poltergeist alongside Wednesday and Scream VI star Jenna Ortega as the daughter of Lydia Deetz — Winona Ryder’s character in the original movie.

Beetlejuice 2 will once again be directed by Tim Burton. This would mark Burton’s feature directorial comeback in four years after helming Disney’s live-action Dumbo. The project has been in development for more than three decades now, with Burton initially planning to set the sequel in Hawaii.
