Fireworks in Lagos as six teams jostle for NPFL title, N100m

The Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos will witness top-quality football action for the next week as six clubs battle for the 2022/23 league trophy and N100m prize money.

Eight-time champions, Enyimba, Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance qualified from Group A of the abridged league.

Holders Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars made it from Group B.

The competition will start on Saturday (today) with three games.

Enyimba and Remo Stars will set the ball rolling when they clash in the opening game at 2pm.

In the second game of the day, Sunshine Stars will take on holders Rivers United.

Lobi Stars and Bendel Insurance will clash in the final game of the day.

There will be five matchdays and the team with the highest points tally will go home with the trophy and N100m.

There is also the chance to represent Nigeria on the continent as the first and second-place teams will feature in the CAF Champions League next season.

The third-place team will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
