Civil War Release Date Window Reportedly Set for Alex Garland Movie

The Civil War release date window has reportedly been set.

This upcoming epic action movie is written and directed by Alex Garland, who has previously helmed movies like Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Men. This A24 film is set to star Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonica T. Gibbs, and Jess Matney.

According to World of Reel, the movie will likely be released in the spring of 2024.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Garland described the film as a “companion piece to Men in some ways.” He said Civil War is “set at an indeterminate point in the future – just far enough ahead for me to add a conceit.” The film was also described as “a sci-fi allegory for our currently polarised predicament.”

Garland also said this will likely be the last movie he directs, considering returning to his earlier career of writing screenplays, at least for a while. He has written movies like 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Never Let Me Go.
