Moving: Epic Action K-Drama Beats The Mandalorian in Asia as Disney+’s Most-Watched Series

Following its series debut last August 9, Variety brings word that the newest South Korean action drama Moving has officially set a new record for Disney+ and Hulu. Within its first seven days of release, it has already become Hulu’s most-watched K-drama series globally, including the U.S. In addition, the epic fantasy series has also beaten other Disney+ originals including The Mandalorian by becoming the most-viewed Disney+ original across the Asia Pacific region.

The first eleven episodes of Moving are now available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Two new episodes drop every Wednesdays, followed by a three-part series finale on September 20.

What to Expect in Moving?

Based on Kang Full’s popular webtoon of the same name — which has garnered over 200 million views — Moving hails from director Park Inje (Kingdom Season 2) from a screenplay written by Kang Full. It is an action-packed adaptation centering around a select group of former agents with special abilities, as they try to protect their equally super-powered children from those who are hunting them down.

“Bongseok, a boy who could float before he could walk, and Huisoo, a girl who survived a horrific car crash unscathed, end up at the same school,” reads the synopsis. “They quickly become close after confiding in each other, and soon discover there are more people like them out in the world — people with extraordinary abilities. But while life seems relatively carefree for the teenagers, a mysterious delivery driver named Frank begins murdering people with powers across Seoul.”

The series features a star-studded South Korean cast consisting of Zo In-sung (It’s Okay That’s Love) as Kim Doo-sik, Han Hyo-joo (Happiness) as Lee Mi-hyun, Ryu Seung-ryong (Extreme Job) as Jang Ju-won, Cha Tae-hyun (My Sassy Girl) as Jeon Gye-do, Kim Sung-kyun (Reply 1988) as Lee Jae-man, Lee Jung-ha (Nevertheless) as Kim Bong-seok, Go Youn-jung (Sweet Home) as Jang Hui-soo, Kim Do-hoon (The Law Cafe) as Lee Kang-hoon, and more.
