Pain Hustlers Photos Reveal Emily Blunt & Chris Evans in Netflix Drama
Entertainment Weekly has released new photos of Emily Blunt and Chris Evans in Netflix’s Pain Hustlers. The crime drama will premiere in September at TIFF before a limited theatrical release on October 20, 2023. Then, the film heads to Netflix on October 27, 2023.
The images highlight Blunt’s Liza Drake and Evans’ Pete Brenner, two employees at a failing pharmaceutical start-up who get dragged into a criminal conspiracy. Instead of focusing on the pharma executives and the notorious Sackler family, Pain Hustlers explores the day-to-day lives of the salespeople.
“I’ve always been fascinated by salespeople and what they do and the moral side of the pharma industry when they’re hustling to make money,” director David Yates told EW.

What to Expect in Pain Hustlers?
“Liza Drake (Blunt) is a blue-collar single mom who has just lost her job and is at the end of her rope. A chance meeting with pharmaceutical sales rep Pete Brenner (Evans) puts her on an upwards trajectory economically but dubious path ethically as she becomes entangled in a dangerous racketeering scheme,” Netflix’s official synopsis reads. “Dealing with her increasingly unhinged boss (Garcia), the worsening medical condition of her daughter (Chloe Coleman), and a growing awareness of the devastation the company is causing forces Liza to examine her choices.”
Besides Blunt and Evans, the Pain Hustlers cast features Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass, Chloe Coleman, Aubrey Dollar, Amit Shah, Willie Raysor, Brian d’Arcy James, and Andy García.
Pain Hustlers is directed by Yates from a screenplay written by Wells Tower. The drama is based on Evan Hughes’ book of the same name. Yates will produce alongside Lawrence Grey.
