New Saw X Clip Reveals the Horrifying Use of the Eye Trap
A new Saw X clip reveals what Jigsaw is using the horrifying eye trap featured in the movie’s trailers for.
Shared exclusively by Bloody Disgusting, the Saw X clip sees a hospital custodian wake up strapped to a chair. Attached to his eyes are two long, plastic tubes, while other mechanical devices are tied around his fingers. Jigsaw/John Kramer tells the man he has 60 seconds to flip a dial five times, with one of his fingers being broken each time he does it. If he fails to complete the assignment, the tubes attached to his eyes will cause him to lose his vision.

What is Saw X about?
“John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back,” the official Saw X synopsis reads. “The most chilling installment of the SAW franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of SAW I and [Saw] II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.”
Earlier this month, a new Saw X poster featuring a Mayan-style disc included the tagline, “The Tenth Chapter Cuts Through Time.” While nothing has been confirmed and the poster may just be referencing the fact that Saw X is a prequel taking place between the events of the first two movies, some have theorized time travel could be incorporated into the film, potentially as a way to bring Jigsaw back from the dead (John Kramer died in Saw III).
Written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg, Saw X is directed by Kevin Greutert and produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules. Along with Bell, the movie stars Shawnee Smith, Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Michael Beach, and Renata Vaca.
Saw X hits in theaters on September 29, 2023, from Lionsgate.
