They Follow: It Follows 2 Announced, Maika Monroe & Director Returning

A sequel to 2014’s It Follows is officially in the works, with star Maika Monroe and director David Robert Mitchell set to return for the sequel, titled They Follow.

The Hollywood Reporter initially reported the news before Neon took to social media to confirm with a teaser poster for the upcoming film. According to THR’s report, the film will once again follow Monroe as Jay Height, although it’s unclear exactly what the film will be about this time around.

What is It Follows about?

Originally released in 2014, It Follows starred Monroe and followed her character Jay Height, as she’s pursued by a force that only she can see after having sex with her boyfriend. The film follows her efforts to get rid of the presence, who can only be held at bay by passing the entity onto someone else.

The film was a small success upon its release, earning $23.3 million at the box office and earning massive praise for its originality and more.
