Kim Kardashian’s The Fifth Wheel to Premiere on Netflix

Following her most recent role in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Delicate, Kim Kardashian continues to pursue new artistic endeavors. Netflix has recently acquired The Fifth Wheel, a comedy film co-written by comedian Janine Brito (Mr. Mayor) and Saturday Night Live alum Paula Pell (Sisters).

Netflix’s acquisition of The Fifth Wheel comes after the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike. According to Deadline, the streaming platform won the Kardashian-starring comedy after a “nearly week-long competitive bidding war” among various theatrical distributors and streamers.

Further details about the Netflix comedy remain up in the air, but the reality star-turned-actress will reportedly play the “fifth wheel” character alongside still-unknown female co-stars. The plotline is being kept under wraps, though the film will reportedly explore a female-centered narrative.

Besides acting in The Fifth Wheel, the business mogul will also serve as the film’s producer. The Fifth Wheel joins some of Netflix’s forthcoming mid-budget features, including A Family Affair, Lonely Planet, Good Grief, and Six Triple Eight.

Kardashian rose to prominence as a reality TV icon, having appeared in Keeping Up with the Kardashians and some of its spin-offs and iterations, including Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and Hulu’s The Kardashians.

Known to many as a member of the famous family of Kardashians and Jenners — which consists of Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner — the Skims owner has been acting for a scripted show lately, starring as Siobhan Corbyn in American Horror Story: Delicate opposite Emma Roberts.

She also previously lent her voice as Delores in the 2023 animated comedy film PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. Her other movie and television credits include Disaster Movie, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, and Dash Dolls.
