Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, and more star in a fresh batch of character posters for Michael Mann’s Ferrari.

Per tweets posted by the official Letterboxd Twitter account, Neon has debuted new character posters for Michael Mann’s Ferrari, which hits United States theaters this December. Along with Driver, Cruz, and Woodley, the posters also feature Patrick Dempsey as Piero Taruffi and Gabriel Leone as Alfonso de Portago.

What is Ferrari about?

“It is the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier,” the official synopsis reads. “Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi. Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.”

Driver is playing Enzo in Ferrari, while Cruz is playing Laura and Woodley is playing Lina. Along with the aforementioned cast, the movie also stars Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian, Jack O’Connell as Peter Collins, Michele Savoia as Carlo Chiti, and Ben Collins as Stirling Moss.

Based on the 1991 biography Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races, the Machine by Brock Yates, Ferrari’s screenplay was written by Troy Kennedy Martin. The film premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in August 2023, where it was met with positive reviews from critics.

Known for making movies such as 1986’s Manhunter, 1995’s Heat, 2004’s Collateral, and more, Ferrari marks Mann’s latest since 2015’s Blackhat. Following Ferrari, Mann plans to direct a sequel to Heat, which may star Driver.

Ferrari races into United States theaters on December 25, 2023, from Neon.
