Harlem Renewed for Season 3 at Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video has renewed the comedy series Harlem — a story about four best friends living in the titular neighborhood — for a third season. Created by Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver, the series debuted in 2021, with the second season having premiered earlier this year.

In a statement, Oliver — who also co-wrote critical darling The Blackening — teased the creatives behind the show will bring “an even juicier” third season.

“The only thing more fun than making Season 2 of Harlem was getting to travel across the country and watch it with our fans! Thanks to everyone who showed up to support and watched it at home! We’re so grateful for all the love and can’t wait to bring you an even juicier Season 3,” said Oliver.

On the other hand, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of television, Vernon Sanders, teases that Season 3 will bring “more laughs, wit, and cultural commentary.”

What is Harlem about?

The hit television show follows four working professionals — Camille Parks (Meagan Good), Quinn Joseph (Grace Byers), Angie Wilson (Shoniqua Shandai), and Tye Reynolds (Jerrie Johnson) — living in Harlem as they try to balance life, love, and their respective careers.

The synopsis for Harlem describes the series as a story about “four stylish and ambitious best girlfriends in Harlem, NYC, the mecca of Black culture in America.” It added, “Together, they level up from their 20s into the next phase of their careers, relationships, and big city dreams.”

The series also stars Tyler Lepley as Ian Walker, Jasmine Guy as Patricia Joseph, Bevy Smith as Aunt Tammy, Juani Feliz as Isabela Benitez-Santiago, Whoopi Goldberg as Dr. Elise Pruitt, Kate Rockwell as Anna Sharp, Joie Lee as Deborah Parks, Rachel True as Aimee, Trai Byers as Keith, and more.

It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Universal Television, with Oliver, Amy Poehler, Kim Lessing, Dave Becky, Britt Mat, Pharrell Williams, and Mimi Valdés serving as the show’s executive producers.
