Departing Seniors Trailer Sees a Slasher With a Twist

Dark Sky Films has revealed the trailer for its upcoming horror movie Departing Seniors, which mixes the teen slasher with elements of Final Destination and The Dead Zone.

The story of Departing Seniors concerns high school student Javier doesn’t exactly fit in with the popular kids as a queer Mexican-American. But he might be the only one who can save them.

After an act of bullying sends Javier to the hospital, he begins experiencing visions that foresee glimpses of shocking murders at his school right before they happen. Now, in between navigating the social hierarchies and prejudices of clique culture, Javier (Ignacio Diaz-Silverio) and his best friend Bianca (Ireon Roach) must try to unmask a serial killer before he strikes again.

Departing Seniors is directed by Clare Cooney and written by Jose Nateras. It stars Ignacio Diaz-Silvero (A Good Person), Ireon Roach (Candyman), Yani Gellman (Jason X), Maisie Merlock (Black Mold), Cameron Roberts (The Last Shift), and Sasha Kuznetsov.

Dark Sky Films will release Departing Seniors in select theaters and on VOD starting February 2, 2024.
